READING PROMOTION WEEK PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY
The Prize Distribution Ceremony for Reading Promotion Week was conducted today on 01.11.2025 at PM SHRI KV No 1 Chandimandir Cantt. The event was organized to felicitate students who excelled in various reading-related activities conducted during the Reading Promotion Week activity.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony saw students being awarded for their outstanding performance in activities such as reading competitions, book reviews, storytelling etc.. The winners were selected based on their creativity, comprehension, and overall presentation.
The prizes included trophies and certificates which were distributed by the Worthy Principal Ma'am.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Deepika Sandhu, the Worthy Principal of the Vidyalaya , congratulated the winners and encouraged all students to continue cultivating a love for reading. "Reading is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to providing our students with opportunities to explore the world of books," she said.
The event also featured a special initiative by the Worthy Principal Ma'am to provide Participation Certificates to each student who has participated in Reading Promotion Week activity. This initiative was for promoting a culture of reading among students.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was a fitting culmination to the Reading Promotion Week celebrations, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across all classes. The event was a testament to the vidyalaya's commitment to fostering a love for reading and learning among its students.
READING DAY PLEDGE
PM SHRI KV No.1 Chandimandir Cantt is going to celebrate National reading day on 19th June and Reading Month from 19 June -18 July 2025.
National Reading Day was celebrated in the Vidyalaya with a pledge to honor P.N. Panicker's legacy and promote reading. The day, observed on June 19th, is dedicated to the memory of P.N. Panicker, the "father of the library movement" in India.
Students and teachers participated in a reading pledge, committing to cultivate reading habits and recognize its importance.
The celebration often extends beyond a single day, marking the beginning of Reading Month, which continues with more activities to promote reading throughout the month.

As per the order of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, the PUSTAKOPAHAR programme is organized in all the Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country at the start of the new session.
PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No, 1 Chandimandir Cantt also conducted the pustakopahar activity under the noble guidance and direction of Worthy Principal Ma'am. This activity was conducted on 23rd of April and many of the students exchanged their pre-class books with other students.
As it is known that the main goal of organizing this programme is to conserve the environment, save paper, save trees, clean India, green India, etc.
Kendriya Vidyalaya plays a strong role through the students. Under this programme, many students exchanged their pre-class books with other students.
The Gifted books were from maximum classes
The Worthy Principal Ma'am encouraged the students to participate at the Maximum in the next session. The Vidyalaya celebrated this as a festival . Students do this willingly to spread the message of sharing and caring and being environment friendly .
The students felt happy to participate in the activity.
